Wednesday, October 12

This was an important day as Jenny and the family was faced with the decision of whether to pursue chemotherapy or not. Because of the improvement in Jenny's condition ove rthe past several days the doctors were seing a window of opportunity to try chemo. However they were candid about the possible outcomes: it could be harmful to Jen, it could be ineffective, or it could give her some extra time. But they were clear that it did not offer a cure.
Jenny felt confused as she considered whether to try chemo or not. She ahd flet the Lord say "choose life" the night before and chemo wasn't offering life. We all prayed that God's mind and will would become clear that day which was all the time she had to decide.
Throughout the day, as different family members came into the hospital, it became clear that she should not try chemo, but continue to trust God for healing. With that decision she felt God's peace return and it was confirmed by some of the medical staff who told her they believed she had made the right decision.
Once chemotherapy was not an option, Jenny was discharged the following day and went home to breathe the clear fresh air of Matakana.
